Come join our award winning women's chorus of over 50 members.
Why would I want to join?
Singing, friendship and good times are the reasons our members join and stay with the organization. Singing improves your overall health, improves breathing, boosts our immune system, is a great mental exercise and helps relieve stress.
During the Pandemic we are offering ON-LINE MEMBERSHIPS with no committment to join us once we are able to head back to the Risers. If you'd always wanted to try singing a cappella, join us on ZOOM each week. Your on-line membership includes access to all rehearsals and coaching session, music and learning files and a chance to make a lot of new friends. Email us at [email protected] for more details.
Performances: Every year our Chours has a show or cabaret and we also sing at many other venues in and around London. Quartets are called upon to sing at birthdays and weddings as well our annual “Singing Valentines”
Competitions: Each year we compete in a regional competition. London Chorus was the 2017 Mid-Size Chorus Regional Champion. We placed 3rd in the International Harmony Classis in Hawaii in November 2013. Yes, we travel as well. We just returned from a successful placing at the 2018 International competition in St Louis. It is a thrill to watch these competitions. The first time you hear over 12,000 women singing together in harmony will make you realize what music is all about. Ladies from all corners of the world come together to sing. Wow!!!
The chorus is a four part "a cappella" chorus. Being able to read music is not mandatory, as learning files are given to each member for all new music. Every member must audition and be range tested and then is placed in the best part for her voice. There are 4 parts - Lead, Tenor, Baritone and Bass. Please come out any Wednesday night and listen to our Chorus perform. London Chorus Sweet Adelines rehearse at 7p.m. Wednesday nights at The Church of the Ascension, 2060 Dundas St East, London, Ontario, N5V 1R2
