Performance at Pinafore Park

The London Chorus had a great time performing for the crowd at Pinafore Park on Sunday August 19.

What a beautiful bandshell and park.  Thanks to all who came out to support us.

Region 2 Education Day in London

Erin Howden held an education and coaching day for Region 2 in London on May 26.  Topics covered included freeing yourself in your performance, use of hands, bringing emotion into your musical performance.

Visit from a Founding Member!

Alberta (Allie) Kay is a Charter and Founding Member of the London Chorus.  The Chorus was founded in 1954 and Allie sang with the Chorus prior to it being chartered with Sweet Adelines.  We are so grateful that she and her singing sisters started this wonderful Chorus for us to sing in today.

Allie came out to visit us on Wednesday with her son and daughter-in-law.  The Chorus and quartets Imagine That and Everyday People provided entertainment.

Allie recently celebrated her 100th birthday!  Singing keeps you young!

Onstage for WAYS

A small group performed at the Onstage for WAYS fundraiser on Tuesday May 8.

Good time had by all and WAYS raised over $13,000 for their Youth programming

Twas the Month Before Christmas Show

We held a successful show on Saturday November 25th with our guests, the Forest City Fire Men's Chorus.

There were seasonal favourites performed by the Chorus and 2 of our Quartets:  Short & Sweet,  Venture and Imagine That.  Our guest enjoyed cookies and refreshments at a reception following the performance.

Merry Christmas!

Happy 100th Birthday Agnes!

The Chorus celebrated Agnes' 100th birthday at her party in Chatham and by purchasing a commemorative brick in her honour at the Sweet Adelines International Headquarters.

We are so blessed to have Agnes continue to be an Associate Member with the Chorus.  It was a blast to have her join us to sing the Irish Blessing in front of over 100 friends and family at her party.

Celebrating Jackie's success

On of our members, Jackie Buttnor, competed on the Canadian Team for the 2017 Invictus Games held in Toronto.  The Invictus Games were established 3 years ago by Prince Harry as a means of rehabilitation and friendly competition for wounded warriors.  Jackie is now retired from the Canadian Armed Forces which gives her time for her training and singing with our Sweet Adeline Chorus.

During the games Jackie participated in three events:  Powerlifting, Rowing and Wheelchair Rugby.

She won the SILVER MEDAL in Womens Powerlifting!

Region 2 Fall Music School

Some of our Chorus members attended the Fall Regional School on the weekend.  The "Stage Coaches" gave us hints and tips on characterization and bringing unity to our performance.

We also enjoyed the Parade of Champions where the Region's 2017 International representatives performed for us.  Good luck to Fusion, The Vibe, Grand Traverse Show Chorus and Shoreline Sounds Chorus as they compete in Las Vegas in 2 weeks.
